An Internet Project for students around the world.

Welcome to the Florida Bobcat Educational Tracking Project. This project presents real time information on bobcats that are radio-collared in east central Florida. These bobcats are radio-collared so that the scientists of Coryi Foundation, Inc. can study the ways in which they persist in a severely fragmented landscape. For information on the objectives of the study, check out Coryi Foundation’s research projects page.

The information contained in these web pages is provided to the general public and students of Brevard County and the world so that they may take a peek into the lives of these majestic and seldom seen members of wild Florida. Some of the photos contained in this site are of the very cats that you will be studying. It is our intent to bring you into their world by showing you how and where they range, providing you with interesting stories, giving you the opportunity to send questions to the scientists, and learning some basic ecology of the bobcat and its community. For detailed information on bobcats go to the Florida bobcat paper.

We are also planning activities for schools and organizations that would like to attend outdoor classes, see slide presentations, and do other fun and interesting things.

We welcome your comments and suggestions. Also let us know if your school or organization would like to arrange an activity. You may send email to Tim Mallow at webmaster@coryi.org

The project consists of four parts:

1) An interactive map that provides you with a means to track a couple bobcats as we track them.
2) Stories on some aspect of a feline's life.
3) Questions and Answers -- Your opportunity to ask the scientists, and to find out what others ask.
4) Lessons in ecology (coming soon).
